It was prophetic, in a way. The first thing to greet the virus' birth was a clap of thunder, and the flash of lighting - mother nature's fury at the violation of her laws.






This Rift, since we have only a few members, will be somewhat limited in the destruction it could cause. Only FIVE CHARACTERS may be affected by this.




IBED has been playing with the laws that keep this universe intact again. This time, they seem to have gone right for the kill, hoping to alter the animal forms of their soldiers to create an army.
Fortunately or unfortunately, things haven't gone on quite as planned. The virus was set to target the animal form of a specific person, altering their genome within the animal form only to create something of a super-soldier.
However, it seems to have taken a mind of its own, infecting one FBI agent, Artemis Wren, and forcing her into animal form. She is of human mind within it, but otherwise unable to shift back.
( the role play between kesare and artemis will occur at some point soon. )
However, upon walking along the streets, getting into the FBI building, and perhaps IBED agents being exposed to the virus as well, people could start shifting at any time - and not be able to transform back.


And to go along with the fun, a storm has started up and affects all of Urbs... Looks pretty nasty. You may have this storm start to affect any threads you're in currently, or you may continue. Power outages may occur, as well as other things - but this isn't Armageddon.
Yet.




If you choose to be affected by this Rift, you may begin a thread with anyone you wish, and be forced to transform. ( please have "RIFT -" in the title. ) As the Rift prolongs, changes start happening to dissolve some of the human instincts in the stuck people, as well as certain 'enhancements'. You may pick TWO skills from the shop that your character slowly gains in animal form over the course of the Rift. After the Rift is over, you may keep ONE of the skills for future use of your character, but it only applies to animal form. The changes that occur and the skills you pick are up to you - if you have questions, ask here or PM me.


Since this is only the first Rift, I do have a vague idea of how it should play out beginning to end, but you are welcome to bring in mini-plots or other ideas to make this even more exciting and sci-fi! Post below if you've got a cool idea of how this could affect your/others' characters!

If you want to participate in this Rift, just make sure to be in the threads with "RIFT -" at the start.


However, if you would like to be one of the ones affected by it, please post here and the number in which you'd like to be force-changed.
You must provide a reasonable explanation of how you were exposed to the virus ( going through FBI building, pet sarchy on the head; IBED who was in the lab when it was exposed; civilian who saw sarchy be force-shifted, etc. ), and role play it out with someone who may or may not be affected by the Rift.
If you are affected by it, THE CHARACTER who was affected by this Rift may not be affected by the next one unless it is an all-encompassing Rift, which may happen in the near future.


The storm sub-rift plot can be used by anyone, as aforementioned.


Anyone may participate, although it's not /required/, it is the heart and soul of our plotline, and what keeps us going!
