It was dusk, the perfect colision of day and night. It was her favorite time to get out and stretch her limbs. For a moment she stood just beyond the ruins, her eyes scanning over to rubble. She knew the later it got the more risky it was being here, but that wasn't going to stop her. Seeing nothing other than a few wild rabbits and rats she deemed it safe and shifted into her favorite skin. Nim stretched out, her paws shooting out in front of her as her back arched and her long tail curled upwards. After a wide yawn her jaws snapped shut with a click. "Mmmm. That was nice! Time for a little work out." She thought to herself before dashing off through the rubble. The fossa bounced over fallen rock, under creeping vines, and swiftly scaled trees. She lept from one branch to another, on to the roof of a crumbling building, and then was back into another tree. This was when she was truely happy, when she felt like she had wings. She was at this kind of running around for a good while and by the time she stopped to rest it was well past dark. The cat like creature perched herself on a large fallen tree branch, somewhere close to the middle of the ruins. Her maw was slightly parted as she tried to catch her breath, eyes flicking all over the place. She noticed a rabbit a ways ahead of her, causing her to lick her lips. Deciding it was dinner time, she quieted her breathing and slowly stepped off the branch and into the moonlight, her senses focused on her prey. She'd have to be quick. The creatures that live in this area are extra cautious due to the fact it belonged to humans not so long ago. The were not stupid and remembered the past well. Nim crept closer and closer untill the rabbit finally took notice of her once she was a few yards away. With a loud warning thump it jumped just out of her grasp. She quickly went after it, managing to keep on it's trail fairly well. The small creature made the mistake of dashing into an old building and found itself cornered between two walls and the predator. With a cat like chirp the fossa opened her jaws and lunged, locking her fangs around the beasts head and neck. With a crunch she crushed it's skull in her mouth then dropped it to the dusty floor. After licking the blood from her lips she crouched down and started to pull some of the fur off with her teeth, exposing the tender flesh below.

Again one of those damn days, she hated them with a passion as they only made her feel incomplete and the reason for those days or feelings never was clear or understandable, thankfully she found a way to kill the feeling or it was her mind was distracted with other matters she ended forgetting how she felt.
Disgusted she walked down the stairs of her apartment and took the black leather jacket that lay over a chair near the door. Searching inside the left pocket she got sure keys were there and then twisted the knob of the wooden door and pulled it with frustration and anger, when she was outside she pulled the door again, with the same feeling she done before and the piece of wood slammed against the frame creating a lot of noise. Ignoring the elevator she headed directly to the stairs again and didn’t stop getting down till she arrived to the parking lot she had assigned for her bike.
A smile broke on her face watching the black machine. Lifting the seat she retrieved a pair of gloves and sun glasses and wears them. Through the transparent glasses she admired the object and caressed it like it was alive, her smile didn’t leaving as she purred some words to it, ”we’re going there again, hope you don’t mind”. With that said she lifted her right leg and mounted her Ducati; she was proud of that thing, it was her baby and loving it wasn’t strange.
Introducing the key in the ignition lock the started the motor and with a soft roar the black bike told her it was ready to carry her wherever she desired. Kalina left the parking silently and when the wheels of the silent mechanical animal touched the street she accelerated it to its top, making the bike roar with might and leaving a small cloud of white smoke behind as the blond girl was now flying over that powerful kitten.
Speed limit wasn’t her worry that night and some officers didn’t mind much on pursuing her at those hours, it was late and all the cops in the street knew her and her destination, so following her to give her a ticket wasn’t worth to chase her deep into the ruins.
It only took like half an hour for her to arrive to the devastated place and when she crossed the limit she halt the bike making screech the tires. The lamp of the bike was the only light that illuminated the dark streets and corners of the ruins as she traveled inside the place, it was dangerous being there that late but she never had been scared, she was there for the feeling of lonely and longing that created the crumbling buildings.
As she always did when visiting the place, she stopped her bike in front of a place which seemed to be a small restaurant or a bar one time, she wasn’t sure the nature of the place or why she liked being there when she felt overwhelmed by sadness, but she did, and after some hours being there, sat and staring into nowhere her mind relaxed and cleared, allowing her be the calm and careless girl she liked being.

She had just finished devouring the breast meat when the sounds of an engine quickly caught her attention, alerting her to the presence of another. Her head popped up attentively, blood covering her muzzle and some of her neck from her meal. She listened closely, curious as to how far off or how close they were. She debated taking her human form but this one was probably safer. She was faster with 4 legs and could get herself up in a tree if need be. She heard footsteps of someone walking around and so decided she best investigate to see if she needed to get out of there or not. "Damn. Always in the middle of a meal." She sighed and took one last bit of the half eaten rabbit before quietly sneaking out through the doorway.
She flared her nostrils, taking in the strong scent of the new comer. She could smell the heavy exhaust scent along with the leather, causing her to assume this person was male. She tensed a little as she continued to follow the smell, hoping this person wasn't here to cause trouble. Nim took to the roofs as the scent grew stronger, scampering her way across the buildings till she arrived to the one the person was in. It was one of the not so overgrown structures. Perhaps an old bar?
The fossa snuck across the roof, over to one of it's sides where she knew a window to be. The moon shown bright over head so she would only be able to take a quick peek, else they might see her silhouette peering in at them. She took a breath then leaned over the edge, her head appearing upside down in the window for just a second. She quickly glanced around the dark room in search of the person and finally spotted them. As she did she quickly lifted her head and backed up from the window. It looked like it could be a female but she wasn't sure still since she hadn't gotten a good enough look. With a soft growl she decided to actually go in and investigate. If they gave her trouble at least it would be some sort of action in her boring life.
With an quick leap to a near by tree she was on the ground in no time then quickly made her way to the entrance. The room was dark and dust, causing her to sneeze. The fossa shook her head, what cover she had now blown, and finished making her way inside and towards the figure she had seen from the window. On closer inspection she realized it was a woman, much to relief, though that certainly didn't mean she was safe. The cat like creature looked at the woman, her auburn glowing eyes giving her away as a shifter, but that didn't mean she was going to change just yet. She made a yelping type noise to make sure she had the woman's attention then stared at her, waiting for some kind of response.

Still outside the building and over the Ducati the blond femme gazed at the destroyed place, a small sigh of sadness leaving her chest and nose. Her attitude was like she owned it in the past and was forced to watch it fall, but none of such things happened, in those days she was just a student, making her way to finish that boring and demanding phase in her life and finally be free and independent.
Turning the key Kalina cut off the power in the machine and with a swift but elegant move she was standing on her legs and carefully placing the big black bike on its holder. Getting sure she got the key in her pocket the slender woman walked inside the place, taking off the sunglasses just after crossing the main door.
Dust was everywhere, the place was small but the tables and chairs showed that site had some status and not just a simple café where burgers and greasy food where cooked. As a ritual she walked among the fallen chairs and tables and headed directly to the bar; it was a small wooden piece of furniture, but it was fine made and only dust hid its beauty. Caressing one of the borders she circled it and moved from the costumers side to the inner one where the bartender did magic creating drinks, from a simple lemonade to the most extravagant and appealing drink full of color or with strong smell, everything to please the client and show off the creators worth.
A little melancholic smile popped for a moment as she pictured her in that site when its glory was alive, and not the overpopulated bar she worked in every weekend. That bar wasn’t a place for someone like her who wished to ascend as a drink creator, and not like a simple girl who served beers on dirty glasses and needed to support the constant gazes and whispers of males betting they could seduce her, get a kiss or lay with her.
Giggling she shook her head, lately that didn’t happened, maybe because she got tired of hearing and avoid those jerks and started kicking their asses when one dared to grab her rear. After the first guy she hurt, her boss yelled saying he should fire her, but he has impressed in the way she broke the guys nose with just one hit of the tray she had to carry drinks and as a joke he asked her if she preferred move to security.
That was happening again, like magic her mind was driving her into a completely different direction, helping her to forget and giving peace to her troubled inner. That would keep happening if the sudden rustle of a tree hasn’t awoke her instincts; acting like she hadn’t heard the noise she started passing her hand under the bar until she found an old knife with a sharp point, commonly used by the bartender to cut lemons or fruits, get out seeds and grind some ice. Grabbing it silently she holds it, getting sure to keep the blade behind her wrist, that way her attacker wouldn’t see it until she launched the attack.
Kalina was ready now she only needed to wait for the attacker to do its move, but the Russian girl got surprised as a sneeze was the first move of the creature that put her on alert. Her emerald eyes instantly mover towards the door and saw the cat like creature how was moving close with her shiny auburn eyes fixed on her. Her emerald didn’t left it as she was sure that strange cat was a shifter and not a common animal, what it wanted?, that was the question and when the creature yelped Kali discovered that individual was asking the same thing.
”This place is recovering its popularity”, Kalina spoke in a playful voice, hiding perfectly any sign she was prepared for a fight if needed but her left hand was holding firmly the knife, any kind of attack would be deflected and if necessary she was completely able to shift in the blink of an eye and have a pair of claws and fangs to protect herself and not just a tiny knife.

Nim wasn't very concerned anymore. The woman sounded like she wasn't either but she had a feeling she was still on edge a bit. With a yawn the fossa shook her head and pelt then sighed and looked back up at the woman, listening as she spoke. She snorted at the playful comment, thinking something similar herself. To be honest she would much rather this place be even less popular than it was now. As greedy as it was she kinda liked having this place to herself, like her own little get-away spot. But this place never had just her. There was always someone else here at one point or another.
After thinking for a moment she decided this woman was probably a Russian. She had a little bit of an accent but she wasn't totally sure since she wasn't too familiar with foreign languages and the way they sound. Another reason why she guessed Russian though was because she was a rather tall woman and looked pretty muscular, which is a stereotypical trail of the Russians as well. If Nim was to fight this woman she would surely loose, which made her smile mentally. It wasn't too often she was intimidated by a woman.
She sighed, having finished scoping the woman out, then took her human form again so that they could speak to each other and also to show her that she was just a small weak woman who posed no threat at all. Her face and neck still covered in blood but she had forgotten already. Once she was fully shifted she brushed herself off then gave a small grin as she raised her hand in greeting. "Hey." Nim lowered her hand then took at seat on one of the table tops across from the stranger. "Sorry if I spooked you, I just needed to figure out if you were a threat or not. As I'm sure you already know it's not exactly the safest place to be..." with a quick movement she shifted her weight and crossed her legs showing she was relaxed in hopes that the woman would too.
"I'm Nimhe, by the way. But you can just call me Nim. So what are you doing around here so late? I'm use to finding druggies and men trying to cause some sort of trouble but I've never seen someone like you here before." She did her best to seem friendly, though communicating with others was certainly not her specialty. She didn't really have any friends that she talked to so that left talking to the people who came into the bar she worked at and all of that was fake conversing anyway. But never-the-less the was going to try for now.

Wait; that was all she could until the stranger gave up in hiding behind the animal form. It was quite curious how tense she was, never before she felt that way and nothing made her regret the situation, she was loving the trill of danger, the adrenaline sharpening all her senses and keeping her in the edge, at her max if she needed to act swiftly. The developing love for that feeling was a mystery, maybe it was part of her blood, after all she remembered hearing one time from her father that she was descendant of fighters; that she has blood of wolves and tigers within her, and the heat of fight was something natural for them.
Whatever the reason she felt nice no matter what happened, so when the fossa turned into a fragile looking girl the Russian female was a bit disappointed, still she didn’t let her guard down; maybe that woman appeared fragile and weak, but as herself, she could have a naughty surprise for let her confidence go to high.
Watching the other greet her and then relax after saying her name, the blond girl knew it was time to lose up a bit, ”yes, you’re right, this place isn’t the typical spot for tourists. By the way my name is Kalina”, her soft voice still had the particular detail to make r’s sound a bit louder, not much since she wasn’t Russian by all means, it was only her heritage but if Nim could hear her parents she would find it out with the first word, but she didn’t mind a bit that, she was proud for being what she was and as she gave her name she placed softly the knife over the bar, letting Nim see the short blade while Kali smiled softly.
”I could actually ask you the same question, and if you hadn’t seen me around is because I don’t visit this place too often, still this isn’t my first time in the neighborhood”; Kalina’s voice was a soft purr as she sent the question back, her main intention wasn’t so sound impolite but she wasn’t happy when her business were inquired and she was sure the other female wouldn’t like it either, not after she make a curious appearance with blood all over her face and chest. Still that look wasn’t something to scare the blond girl, blood wasn’t a taboo and after putting everything in place she knew Nim had a night lunch in her animal form.
It was unusual to meet someone who liked food the old way, it was true they had animal forms, also it was true that other nature affected them with overwhelming and powerful instincts, her childhood friends were victim of that, but she liked a lot cooked meals and the idea to have a raw dinner wasn’t the most inviting thing for her.
